Top Recruit Football Comine - Frequently Asked Questions
1) What should I expect upon arrival?
Upon arrival athletes will check-in. At check-in athletes who have registered online will confirm their registration. Those that have not yet registered will complete the registration process and pay necessary fees. Athletes will then take part in the camp group warm-up. Following the group warm-up athletes will be put into positional groups and travel as a group to each testing station (6). Upon completion of the 6 stations athletes will then take part in position specific individual drills. Following the individual period athletes participate in a one on one session. At the end of the one on one period all participants will be put through a cool down. Once the cool down has been completed players will have to the opportunity to meet and speak with all schools in attendance.
2) What is included in registration?
Included in registration will be an OUA information package and combine t shirt. Participation in the combine also will give athletes the potential opportunity to be invited to the January 2015 Team Ontario tryout. All athletes wishing to participate in Team Ontario tryouts must attend an OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series event in order to be invited to the Team Ontario tryout. Athletes will also have access to their combine results online following upon completion of the combine series.
3) Should you attend more than one camp?
Athletes are not obligated to participate in more than one camp. However attending more than one camp could provide athletes with more opportunity to showcase their abilities to all schools.
4) Will coaches contact athletes after the camp?
Schools may contact athletes of interest to them via phone or email following the combine.
5) What is the cost of registration
Athletes who register online before the date of the camp will pay $ 30.00 while athletes who register on-site will pay a fee of $ 45.00.
6) What tests will athletes participate in?
Athletes will participate in the following tests: Measurables (height, weight, hand size, arm length and flexibility), Vertical jump, Standing Broad jump, 40 yard dash (10/20/40 splits), Standing Med Ball toss, and 20 yard shuttle.
7) What drills will athletes participate in?
Athletes will participate in position specific individual drills along with one on ones. OL/DL drills will include stance and starts, pull/rip, double team, trap/swim, etc. WR/DB drills will include routes/pass coverage, hands/tip drill, blocking/pursuit, etc. RB/LB drills will include stance and starts, ball handling/footwork/ pursuit, gauntlet/tackling.
QB drill will include footwork, passing mechanics, accuracy, and ball velocity.
8) Why participate in the combine?
The OUA Top Recruit Football Combine series is a great opportunity for student-athletes interested in attending university in Ontario and potentially playing football, to showcase their athletic abilities and football skills in front of OUA football coaching staffs. The OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series will be an outstanding opportunity for OUA to provide a greater number of talented student-athletes the opportunity to be identified by OUA teams and become exposed to the level of excellence our conference offers. The combine will allow OUA coaching staff to evaluate and compare athlete’s talents from around Ontario.

10) What equipment should I bring?
The only equipment needed for the event is as follows: cleats or running shoes; shorts; water; any optional football equipment used (gloves, braces, etc). No football padding is required (i.e. helmet, shoulder pads etc)
11) Where do I register?
Athletes can pre register online here for a fee of $ 30.00. Otherwise athletes can register day of at the camp for a fee of $ 45.00.
12) What ages can attend?
The camp is open to any athletes who have yet to play in the OUA. The camp is focused on athletes who are to graduate in 2015 and 2016 or those that have recently graduated. However all high school aged athletes are welcome to participate regardless of their graduation date.
13) Where can I find the results?
The top 5 recruits results per position (QB, WR, RB, OL,DL, LB,DB,S, K/P) will be posted online at oua.ca. All results will be available to OUA football coaching staff and the Ontario Football Alliance.
14) What coaches will be in attendance?
Representatives from all 11 Ontario University Football Programs will be in attendance for the combines. There will be a period after the testing period to meet with the coaches and discuss any questions you may have.
15) OFA Team Ontario
Ontario Football Alliance staff will be in attendance for all combines. Players who wish to participate in team Ontario tryouts in January 2015 must attend one OUA Top Recruit combine in order to participate in the January tryouts.
16) Can I get a receipt?
Receipts will be available for tax purposes. They will be issued via email once payment has been received.
