2015 Football Canada Cup to be streamed live online

Watch Canada's premiere pre-university tackle football tournament, the 2015 Football Canada Cup live online by visiting www.footballcanada.com on game day.

The tournament hosts under-18 provincial teams from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and two teams from host Quebec at Cégep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu's Alphonse-Desjardins Stadium from July 13 - 19. Each team plays three full games in the weeklong tournament. The undefeated team takes home the title of national champion.

 

The action kicks-off on Monday July 13 at 10 a.m. ET in a battle of last year's fourth place finisher Alberta and consolation draw winner Manitoba. At 1 p.m., New Brunswick faces defending silver medalist Saskatchewan while at 4 p.m., Nova Scotia faces host and defending bronze medalist Quebec Blue who will look to reach the championship contest after winning three consecutive national championships from 2011-'13. To cap off a busy opening day, defending gold medalist Ontario will face eighth seed Quebec White at 7:30 p.m.

 

On Thursday July 16, the second day of action begins with a pair of consolation games at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively while day one winners battle for a trip to the championship in semi-finals at 4 and 7 p.m. respectively.

 

The third and final game day on Sunday July 19 begins with 7th and 5th place games followed by the bronze medal game at 4 p.m. The tournament's two undefeated teams will battle for the title of national champion at 7 p.m. ET.

 

The tournament boast a number of notable alumni including Ben Heenan (Indianapolis Colts), Israel Idonije (retired NFL player), Kirby Fabien (BC Lions), Andy Fantuz (Hamilton Tiger-Cats), Dan McCullough (retired CFL player), Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (KC Chiefs) and Matt Walter (Calgary Stampeders). In addition, five of the last six CIS Rookie of the Year Award winners: Hugo Richard (2014); Daniel Vandervoort (2013); Shaquille Johnson (2012); Tyler Varga (2011); and Linden Gayosh (2009) are all tournament alumni.
