A sunny 25 degree day in Arlington left smiles on most of the players and coaches after Day 2. The day opened up with meetings all morning leading up to practice, going over film from the night before. Once the clock struck 1pm, both teams were back on the practice field for a 3 hour power practice.

U17 (’99-’00) Running Back Jacob Savoni (Lasalle, ON) is no stranger to wearing the Red & Black of Ontario. Last year started off with Savoni representing Team Ontario at the 2015 International Bowl, leading Team Ontario to a 34-17 Win over Team USA. In that game Savoni lead Team Ontario in rushing, with 62 yards on 12 carries, scoring twice. Following up that performance, Savoni suited up for Team Ontario Spadling Cup, where he carried Team Ontario to its first Bronze Medal in the tournament. Savoni had this to say about his time in Texas so far: “Practices have been great so far. The weather has been pretty nice compared to what is it back home right now.” We asked Savoni what we can expect out of the U17 Offence this Wednesday, “Coach Flaxman has really put a focus into the establishing the run, so expect we will be running it a lot come Wednesday.”

With Day 2 now complete, both teams will look to put the final touches in before tomorrows scrimmage verse Team USA. Practices on Wednesday will run from 11am - 2am, both at Maverick Stadium. Scrimmages will take place at AT&T Stadium; Home of the Dallas Cowboys. Looking to attend? Tickets can be purchased t the box office before the game. U17 Takes the field at 9am, followed by U18 at 11am.
