Jelacic leads Team Black to Overtime Win.

In one of the most exciting games in Red vs Black History, Team Black defeated Team Red in overtime, 36-30 in 4th Annual Red vs Black Weekend!

On April 15th - 17th, 2016, the Top 90 U18 players in Ontario met in Guelph for the 4th Annual Red vs Black Weekend. The Top 90 players are selected from our 4 regional tryouts by Head Coach Glen Mills. Players went through a university style mini-camp followed by a Red vs Black game, filmed to professional CFL standards in which the final roster for the Canada Cup will be selected.


Team Black Defensive Lineman - Justin Jelacic (Kitchener, ON)

Defensive Lineman Justin Jelacic lived up the the hype of being selected 1st overall by Team Black. Jelacic was dominate all game and stepped up when his team needed him the most. On the final two plays of the game, Jelacic recorded a tackle for a loss, then finished off Team Red with a game winning sack in Overtime. 


Team Red Running Back - Chase Brown (London, ON)

For Team Red, Running Back Chase Brown from London, ON led the way scoring twice. Brown showed off his speed, power, and elusiveness on Sunday. Only born in 2000, Brown has thrown his name in the hat for the next big thing to come out of Ontario. 


Red vs Black Guest Coaches & Canada Cup Coaches

Along with some great weather, the Top 90 received coaching from some of the top OUA coaches in the province. Every OUA school was in attendance to coach and evaluate the top players in Ontario. 

As for the final selection, the Ontario Football Alliance will announce the 54-Man* Roster on April 27th, at 7pm LIVE on Twitter!

*40-Man Roster that will travel to Winnipeg, MN along with 14 Alternates.
